We Invite You

to participate in the Eastern Pain Association (EPA) Annual Scientific Meeting to be held September 12, 2008, in the state-of-the-art facility of the New York Academy of Sciences at 7 World Trade Center. This is an ideal site to showcase our theme, What’s Old is New Again, with an interactive and thought-provoking meeting that is guaranteed to stimulate and educate.

Dr. Charles H. Cleeland is the 2008 recipient of the Dr. John J. Bonica Award. Dr. Cleeland’s topic, “The Symptom Complex: What Goes Along with Having Chronic Pain?” will be given during lunch and is free of charge to all interested, independent of meeting registration. Dr. Charles E. Inturrisi, current President of the American Pain Society, will deliver the 2008 Dr. Raymond Houde Lecture. Dr. Inturrisi’s lecture will be “Identification and Targeting of Pain Signaling Proteins.”

The meeting would be of utmost benefit to physicians, scientists, nurses, psychologists, pharmacists, dentists, social workers, and others interested in pain management. We are certain you will find we have met our goal of providing presentations to highlight research, treatment and evaluative aspects of pain management which are timely, challenging and innovative. We also invite you to enjoy the distinctive activities which make New York City an exciting destination.
