….the latest on pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of pain as a disease state and the importance of pain and symptom management for different patient populations through an interdisciplinary approach involving physicians, basic scientists and other members of the health care team. These didactic sessions will allow questions, comments from the attendees, and shed light on complex issues including interface between pain and chemical dependency. Attendees will be better able to:

  • interpret CDC Guidelines for prescribing opiates
  • differentiate between pain types
  • employ abuse deterrent technology
  • identify non-opioid options
